Job Overview

The Online Media Buying Manager is a key digital marketing team member responsible for strategizing, executing, and optimizing media buying campaigns across various digital channels. This role requires a deep understanding of digital advertising, including programmatic, social, and search advertising, and a strong analytical mindset to drive performance improvements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale media budgets, optimizing ROI, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Media Buying Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and implement comprehensive media buying strategies that align with the company’s marketing objectives and business goals.
    • Identify the best media platforms and channels to reach the target audience effectively, including programmatic, social media, search engines, and direct buys.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to design campaigns that resonate with the target audience and drive engagement.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in digital media buying to ensure that your strategies are current and effective.
  2. Campaign Management
    • Manage the end-to-end execution of media buying campaigns, including planning, budgeting, trafficking, optimization, and reporting.
    • Conduct thorough audience research and segmentations to ensure that campaigns are highly targeted and effective.
    • Work closely with the creative team to develop compelling ad creatives and copy that align with the campaign goals.
    • Monitor campaign performance daily and make real-time adjustments to optimize for key metrics such as CTR, CPA, ROI, and conversion rates.
    • Ensure campaigns are timely, within budget, and meet or exceed KPIs.
  3. Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze campaign data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
    • Generate detailed campaign performance reports highlighting key metrics, trends, and outcomes.
    • Present findings to internal stakeholders, including senior management, and provide strategic recommendations for future campaigns.
    • Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve media buying strategies and tactics continuously.
  4. Budget Management
    • Manage and allocate the media buying budget across different channels and campaigns, ensuring optimal use of resources.
    • Negotiate with media vendors and partners to secure the best rates and placements for the company.
    • Track and reconcile media spending, ensuring campaigns are executed within budget and meeting financial goals.
    • Provide accurate forecasting and budget updates to senior management.
  5. Vendor & Partner Relationships
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, partners, and platforms.
    • Collaborate with external agencies, publishers, and technology providers to ensure successful campaign execution.
    • Evaluate and onboard new media partners and tools to enhance the company’s media buying capabilities.
    • Stay informed about the latest offerings from key vendors and leverage those opportunities to benefit the company.
  6. Team Collaboration & Leadership
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, analytics, product, and sales, to align campaign objectives and strategy.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
    • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative activities to drive the overall success of digital marketing efforts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint) is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in media buying or digital marketing, focusing on online channels.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in media buying platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, DV360, The Trade Desk, etc.
    • Strong understanding of programmatic buying, real-time bidding (RTB), and ad exchanges.
    • Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.
    • Familiarity with ad tracking tools (e.g., DoubleClick, Campaign Manager) and attribution models.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
