eLearning Course Designer (Remote Position)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative eLearning Course Designer to join our dynamic team. As an eLearning Course Designer, you will be responsible for developing engaging, interactive, and effective online learning experiences. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Course Development:
    • Design and develop eLearning courses from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with educational goals, instructional strategies, and learning objectives.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, understand the target audience, and tailor the course material to meet specific learning needs.
    • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design theories to create engaging, interactive, and learner-centered content.
  2. Instructional Design:
    • Develop instructional materials, including lesson plans, storyboards, scripts, and assessment tools, that align with the course objectives and enhance the learning experience.
    • Utilize a variety of instructional design models and frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to guide the development process and ensure the course is pedagogically sound.
    • Create assessments, quizzes, and evaluations to measure learner progress and ensure knowledge retention.
  3. Multimedia Integration:
    • Incorporate multimedia elements such as videos, animations, simulations, graphics, and interactive activities to enhance the learning experience and cater to diverse learning styles.
    • Work closely with graphic designers, video producers, and other creative professionals to ensure the visual and auditory elements are high-quality and align with the course content.
    • Optimize multimedia content for various platforms, ensuring compatibility with different devices and learning management systems (LMS).
  4. Technology and Tools:
    • Utilize eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) to create interactive and visually appealing courses.
    • Implement and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course delivery, tracking, and reporting.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in eLearning and educational technology, continuously improving course design and delivery methods.
  5. Project Management:
    • Manage multiple eLearning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
    • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including SMEs, project managers, and clients, to provide updates on project progress and address any challenges or changes in scope.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of project plans, design processes, and course materials for future reference and continuous improvement.
  6. Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct thorough reviews and testing of eLearning courses to ensure they meet quality standards, are free of errors, and provide a seamless learning experience.
    • Gather and analyze feedback from learners, instructors, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and make necessary revisions to course content and design.
    • Ensure all courses are accessible, compliant with industry standards (e.g., SCORM, AICC), and meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with disabilities.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in instructional design, educational technology, and eLearning.
    • Participate in peer reviews and collaborate with other eLearning professionals to share insights, challenges, and innovative approaches to course design.
    • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of eLearning courses and make data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. A masterโ€™s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in eLearning course design, instructional design, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Camtasia.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and eLearning best practices.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and knowledge of SCORM, AICC, and other eLearning standards.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
