Remote Instructional Designer for Learning & Development (L&D)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development (L&D) team. This role is crucial in designing, developing, and implementing innovative training programs that enhance employee skills and drive organizational success. As a remote team member, you will collaborate with various organizational stakeholders to create impactful learning experiences that align with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Design and Development:
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), blended learning solutions, and job aids.
- Analyze learner needs, organizational goals, and industry best practices to create engaging and effective learning content.
- Utilize instructional design models such as ADDIE, SAM, or Agile to ensure instructional materials are well-structured and deliverable.
- Content Creation:
- Develop and produce high-quality learning materials, including scripts, storyboards, multimedia elements, and assessments.
- Leverage authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) to build and deploy content.
- Ensure content is aligned with learning objectives and is engaging, interactive, and accessible.
- Needs Assessment and Analysis:
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across various departments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather relevant information and insights for content development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, address any issues or changes, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
- Implement evaluation strategies to measure training programs' effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Use feedback and performance data to refine and enhance learning materials and instructional approaches.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in instructional design and L&D.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, L&D, and department managers, to ensure training initiatives align with organizational goals.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and meetings to gather input and provide updates on project status.
- Provide guidance and support to facilitators and trainers to ensure consistent delivery of training programs.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably within a corporate L&D environment.
- Proven track record of designing and developing successful training programs and materials.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in instructional design models and methodologies.
- Expertise in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create explicit, engaging, and instructional content.
- Strong analytical skills to assess learning needs and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Technical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with a reliable internet connection.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Experience with virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and digital communication platforms.
