Position Overview:

We seek a skilled and strategic Remote Media Planning and Buying Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Media Planning and Buying Specialist, you will create and implement media plans, negotiate with vendors, and analyze campaign performance to ensure optimal media placement and budget utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Media Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to understand their marketing objectives, target audience, and budget.
    • Develop comprehensive media strategies and plans that align with the overall marketing goals and objectives.
    • Research and analyze media trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  2. Media Planning:
    • Identify and select appropriate media channels (e.g., digital, print, TV, radio) based on the target audience and campaign objectives.
    • Create detailed media plans that outline media channels, budgets, timing, and expected outcomes.
    • Ensure cost-effective media plans deliver maximum reach and impact within the allocated budget.
  3. Media Buying:
    • Negotiate and purchase media space or time from media vendors, ensuring favorable rates and terms.
    • Manage relationships with media vendors, including negotiating contracts and resolving any issues.
    • Monitor and optimize media buys to ensure they align with the media plan and deliver desired results.
  4. Campaign Management:
    • Oversee the execution of media campaigns, ensuring they are launched on time and within budget.
    • Track and analyze campaign performance metrics, such as impressions, clicks, conversions, and ROI.
    • Adjust media strategies and tactics based on performance data and market conditions.
  5. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare detailed reports on media campaign performance, including insights and recommendations for future campaigns.
    • Use analytics tools to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of media placements and overall media strategy.
    • Provide regular updates to clients or stakeholders on campaign progress and performance.
  6. Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage media budgets, ensuring that expenditures are within allocated limits and resources are used efficiently.
    • Monitor and track media spending, making adjustments as necessary to optimize budget utilization.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing, creative, and analytics, to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
    • Communicate effectively with clients or stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns or questions.
    • Maintain strong relationships with media vendors and industry contacts to stay informed about new opportunities and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in media planning and buying, preferably in a remote or flexible work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of media channels, including digital, print, TV, radio, and emerging platforms.
  • Proficiency in media planning and buying tools, such as media planning software and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable media rates and terms.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting, managing time and priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programmatic media buying and ad tech platforms.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and methods.
  • Certification in media planning or buying (e.g., Media Planning Certification).
