Position Overview:
The Remote Philanthropy Manager will play a pivotal role in driving our fundraising efforts, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing donor relations. This position is ideal for a seasoned philanthropy professional with a passion for social impact, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants to support our various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy Development:
- Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with the organizationโs mission and goals.
- Identify and target new fundraising opportunities, including major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government agencies.
- Develop innovative campaigns and initiatives to engage potential donors and supporters.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to create compelling fundraising materials and digital content.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, ensuring personalized engagement and stewardship.
- Develop and implement donor recognition programs to acknowledge and appreciate donor contributions.
- Regularly update donors on the impact of their contributions through reports, newsletters, and personalized communication.
- Grant Writing and Management:
- Lead the grant writing process, including researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
- Manage the grant reporting process, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and timely submission of reports.
- Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure they meet the objectives and deliverables outlined in the proposals.
- Corporate Partnerships:
- Identify and cultivate corporate partnerships that align with the organizationโs mission and values.
- Negotiate and secure corporate sponsorships for events, programs, and initiatives.
- Develop and manage cause-marketing campaigns in collaboration with corporate partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term collaboration.
- Event Planning and Management:
- Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, including virtual and in-person events.
- Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure successful event delivery.
- Develop post-event reports to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
- Leverage events to increase donor engagement and attract new supporters.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, contributions, and fundraising activities in the organizationโs CRM system.
- Analyze fundraising data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting fundraising performance and opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to fundraising and donor management.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and volunteers involved in fundraising activities.
- Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in philanthropy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; a masterโs degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit management.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors and partners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM software and fundraising platforms.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with a high degree of self-motivation and accountability.
